Shipping Policy
Orders are prepared for courier delivery, company-vehicle delivery or warehouse collection, according to the method arranged for the order.
Estimated delivery and production times
Standard mild steel orders: 3–5 working days. Orders requiring Galvanising: 4–7 working days total. Drilling adds 4 working days; each additional Specialist Finish adds 4 working days; Powder Coating adds 4 working days. These estimates include delivery and exclude weekends and applicable bank holidays.
Where services are combined, work follows Drilling → Galvanising → Specialist Finishing → Powder Coating, with final checks and packing afterwards. For example, Galvanising plus Drilling and Powder Coating normally totals 12–15 working days, including delivery. Stock galvanised handrail products do not require an additional hot-dip production stage unless the order specifies one.
Estimates run from cleared payment and receipt of the information needed to process the accepted order. Stock availability, production requirements, delivery location and access can affect the estimate. We will advise you of a material delay where reasonably possible. A shipping label or tracking number does not confirm physical dispatch; tracking updates begin after carrier collection and scanning.
Express services and delivery appointments
Express, timed and Saturday services are subject to stock, production requirements, location and carrier availability. Selecting a carrier service does not remove the time needed for custom processing. A particular delivery date is guaranteed only where we expressly confirm that guarantee in writing. Any extra service charge is confirmed before booking.
Please wait until the goods have arrived and been checked before making non-cancellable arrangements for installers, cranes, equipment or other dependent work. Our Terms & Conditions explain delivery responsibilities and remedies, including the distinction between Consumers and Business Customers. Consumer statutory delivery rights are unaffected.
Warehouse collection
For collection orders, the estimate is a readiness window. Please wait for our separate ready-to-collect notification before travelling to the warehouse.
On orders that are long, heavy, or are being delivered to an offshore address, we have the right to charge additional delivery fees. If any additional charges apply, we will notify you after receiving your order before dispatching it.
Please note that because we employ a courier service, we are required to charge VAT on delivery, which is detailed in the table below.

Delivery will be free if the value of your order is £150 or more (excluding VAT). This is for only England, Wales & Central Scotland. The free postage and packing does not include for Highlands of Scotland, Isle of Wight, Channel Islands, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scottish Islands, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly.
Steel beam, Steel column, Galvanised universal beam and Galvanised universal column orders over £150 are eligible for free delivery.
Orders up to £200.00 exc. VAT are delivered for free to a Central Scotland address.
Deliveries to an address in the Scottish Highlands are free up to the value of £220.00 exc. VAT.
We regret that we are unable to provide free delivery to other areas.
For deliveries to restricted areas, an additional shipping charge of £60 will apply.
Restricted Areas: Dublin, Meath, Louth, Tipperary, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Donegal, Galway, Cavan, Monaghan, Kildare, Westmeath, Longford, Cork, Carlow, Kilkenny, Offaly, Limerick, Kerry, Clare, Waterford, Wexford, Wicklow, Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man, Channel Islands, Aberdeen, Scotland, Scilly Isles, Scottish Isles, and surrounding areas.
For Beam/Column Products £60 + Flat Rate(according to their weight). Maximum it can charge £210.
Any single item with a weight exceeding 50 kg does not qualify for free shipping due to manual handling requirements during transport. However, orders that include heavy items totaling more than £1,000 plus VAT will be eligible for free shipping.
For example, if you order five beams, each measuring 127 cm x 76 cm x 13 cm and weighing 39 kg (with a total order value exceeding £150), your delivery will qualify for free shipping. Since each beam weighs 39 kg, they can be handled by one man service
Any orders that fall below the aforementioned thresholds will be charged the following delivery fees:

Reinforcing Packaging Charge
If the length exceeds 1.5 meters and the weight is under 10kg Or product’s thickness are 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm and 3.5mm, an additional £8 Reinforcing Packaging Charge will be applied.

Please note that we may ask for identification and/or to view the card used to purchase the items for security reasons; please have a copy of the order or the order number with you. Please note that goods purchased with PayPal cannot be picked up. We would also like to point out that unless the items have been paid for prior to pick up, any mandatory cutting will not be done until you arrive and the goods have been paid for. As a result, it’s possible that you’ll have to wait for your order.
This may seem self-evident, but 3m and 6m lengths of steel are hefty, and household cars are not designed to transport these types of goods. Please make sure you have proper methods of securing items safely, and that the means of transporting the goods are safe and legal.

Payments & Delivery via PayPal
If paying with PayPal, it is the duty of the customer to confirm that the PayPal address is correct on PayPal. If the PayPal address is incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible to inform us of the correct delivery address. Please keep in mind that The KI Metals does not have access to PayPal accounts and cannot change any of the information. The KI Metals reserves the right to charge for re-delivery of any products shipped to the incorrect address if we are not informed of the proper delivery address. The KIMetals shall not be held liable for any losses, damages, penalties, or expenditures incurred as a result of any delivery delays or deliveries to erroneous addresses.
